Pain and Movement Recovery

Neck, back, shoulder or knee pain can make familiar tasks difficult. At Checkpoint, we assess your symptoms alongside movement and daily activities to plan appropriate care and exercise.

Who this is for

  • Muscle or joint pain affecting everyday tasks
  • Movement feels restricted or you avoid certain activities because of pain
  • Recurring symptoms and a need for ongoing self-management advice

What we work on with you

Understand what is difficult

Assess symptoms, movement and the tasks you are struggling with.

Choose appropriate care

Consider manual therapy, physiotherapy equipment and exercise according to the assessment findings.

Work towards everyday activity

Plan exercise and activity adjustments around your work and routine.

Enquire about a pain assessment

When pain interrupts your training

Tell us which movement brings on symptoms, whether they appear during or after training and what your recent workload has been. This connects assessment to your actual activity.

Symptoms with running

Discuss distance, pace and when symptoms start as part of assessment.

Gym and lifting

Review the painful movement, range of motion, weight used and your training experience.

Recurring pain in sport

Review practice and symptom-provoking tasks to plan care and subsequent training.

Do not assume you should train through unexplained pain or stop every activity. Activity changes should follow your symptoms and assessment.

What to expect at your first visit

  1. Discuss and assess

Start with your health history, difficulties and goals.

  2. Agree your care

Discuss the findings and an appropriate plan before starting care.

  3. Plan longer-term rehabilitation

Talk through practice, activity adjustments and follow-up.

Before your visit

Tell us where it hurts, when it started and which activities affect it. Bring any available reports or treatment history.

Questions before booking

Have another question? Ask the team before booking.

Can I book without a diagnosis?

You can book an assessment. If further investigation or medical care is needed first, the team will advise you.

Do I need an MRI before booking?

Do not arrange a scan solely to book a visit. Bring existing reports; any further investigations depend on your symptoms and clinical advice.

Can physiotherapy help with persistent pain?

It may form part of your care. Symptoms, health history and goals need to be assessed before a plan is agreed.

What does it cost?

Ask the team about current fees, inclusions and appointment duration before confirming a booking.
