Rehabilitation and Performance

For athletes and regular exercisers, training asks more of the body than everyday tasks. We consider your injury, previous training and sport demands when connecting rehabilitation with running, gym work or sport practice, whether recreational or competitive.

Who this is for

  • Past early rehabilitation but still short of strength or confidence
  • Finding it difficult to return to running or sport
  • Looking for a training plan after injury or surgery before resuming sport

What we work on with you

Check activity readiness

Assess strength, movement and limitations relevant to your training.

Practise what your activity needs

Develop strength, balance and movement control before adding more demanding tasks.

Plan your return

Build training volume and intensity while reviewing symptoms and readiness.

Discuss your return to training

Bring rehabilitation closer to your sport

Distance running, weight training and sports involving stops or direction changes have different demands. Your target activity guides the progression.

Running and endurance

Discuss distance, pace and recovery when planning a return to running.

Strength and control

Practise tasks relevant to lifting, jumping or landing as appropriate.

Sport practice

Prepare acceleration, stopping and direction changes relevant to your sport.

Readiness for practice and competition can differ. No test guarantees that another injury will not occur.

What to expect at your first visit

  1. Discuss and assess

Start with your health history, difficulties and goals.

  2. Agree your care

Discuss the findings and an appropriate plan before starting care.

  3. Plan longer-term rehabilitation

Talk through practice, activity adjustments and follow-up.

Before your visit

Tell us about your injury, treatment so far and the sport or exercise you want to return to.

Questions before booking

Have another question? Ask the team before booking.

Is this only for athletes?

No. It can also support a return to recreational running, gym training and sport.

Can I start if I still have pain?

Describe your symptoms before booking. Your physiotherapist will assess whether to focus on symptom management or a suitable level of training.

Does an assessment clear me to compete?

Returning to competition involves several considerations. One assessment cannot guarantee that another injury will not occur.

What does it cost?

Ask the team about current fees, inclusions and appointment duration before confirming a booking.
