Therapeutic Exercise

When getting up, walking or lifting your arm is difficult, exercise needs a suitable starting point. We use your assessment to select exercises, teach the movements and adjust the workload as part of your rehabilitation.

Who this is for

  • Rehabilitating after pain, injury or surgery
  • Limited strength, joint movement or balance
  • Unsure how to do your current exercises or when to progress

What we work on with you

Choose exercises for your needs

Assess which movements or muscle groups need further training and which limitations may be relevant to your difficulties.

Practise with guidance

Learn the movement and an appropriate workload.

Connect exercise to daily tasks

Review exercises against goals such as walking, stairs or lifting.

Ask about rehabilitation exercise

Connect rehabilitation exercise with your training

Even regular exercisers may be unsure what to train after an injury. Exercise selection follows the rehabilitation need; you do not need to resume previous weights or volume immediately.

Foundations before heavier training

Work on strength, control and loading where limitations remain.

Activity-related movements

Select tasks such as squats, step-ups, reaching or single-leg work according to your goals.

Adjusting workload

Review resistance, repetitions and symptoms during or after exercise before progressing.

If the goal is fitness development without a rehabilitation need, personal training may be a better fit.

What to expect at your first visit

  1. Discuss and assess

Start with your health history, difficulties and goals.

  2. Agree your care

Discuss the findings and an appropriate plan before starting care.

  3. Plan what comes next

Talk through practice, activity adjustments and follow-up.

Before your visit

Bring your current exercises and any medical instructions. Wear clothes you can move comfortably in.

Questions before booking

Have another question? Ask the team before booking.

How is this different from personal training?

Therapeutic exercise focuses on rehabilitation and specific limitations. Personal training focuses on fitness goals according to readiness. Ask us if you are unsure where to start.

Can I start without exercise experience?

Yes. An assessment helps establish a suitable starting level.

Will I have exercises between visits?

Your physiotherapist may suggest exercises where appropriate. Make sure you understand the technique and when to stop before practising on your own.

What does it cost?

Ask the team about current fees, inclusions and appointment duration before confirming a booking.
